The Zeitschrift für Ästhetik und allgemeine Kunstwissenschaft was the main vehicle of Max Dessoir's and Emil Utitz's project to establish an "objective" science of arts. Interdisciplinary and international in outlook, the Zeitschrift brings together numerous contributions from prominent linguists, musicologists, philosophers, philologists, psychologists and specialists of aesthetics and art history, and offers an exhaustive overview of research in aesthetics in Germany and Austria at the beginning of the 20th century. The objective of this paper will be to assess the role and presence of thinkers associated with Neokantianism in the pages of the Zeitschrift on the basis of bibliometrical data and network visualisations (ligograms).
