Surrender-and-catch and phenomenology

Kurt Wolff

pp. 85-104

Abstract

One of the characterisitics of "surrender' is the suspension of received notions (Wolff, 1976, p. 23). This suggests a close connection with phenomenology: "bracketing' ("reduction,' "epoché'), which is common to both. But there is an important difference in the meaning of suspension in surrender and phenomenology. I begin with its meaning in phenomenology.
