Conclusion

reconstructing the self

Anthony Farr

pp. 231-256

Abstract

Freedom is our not being bound, beyond this it can have no meaning without further specification. Freedom in its most general sense has mankind as its subject and poses the question; to what is man bound? It seeks to comprehend how man, as a species, has command over his life and how the individual fits into this scheme of self-creation.
