"Musement on the whole"…an attitude toward space
pp. 399-414
Abstract
The recent appearance of a new architectual terminology seems to be an open invitation for architecture and semiotics to join forces. For architects, and American architects in particular, the quick absorption of the "new language" is testimony to the aridity of past architectural theory. In fact, in this country, issues of design significance had hardly been allowed any theoretical diet before about 1970.
