Duality and self-correction
pp. 30-48
Abstract
The first chapter distinguished between two viewpoints we can adopt in talking about knowledge. We may assume the position of an observer and try to explain how knowledge appears to us as a process. Or we may recognize that the "object" of our inquiry is the inquiring 'subject": from the viewpoint of the agent we try to give an account of what it is to be a knower or questioner.1
