Genre matters
tracing metaphors of miscegenation in genre history, Derrida's "the law of genre" and Gloria Anzaldúa's Borderlands/La frontera
pp. 3-20
Abstract
"Metaphors of Miscegenation: Genre Mixing in Gloria Anzaldúa's Borderlands/La Frontera." Shelley García, Biola University. This chapter argues for the need to make genre a part of any discussion of Chicana writing, and it does so by exploring perhaps the most iconic text in the field, Gloria E. Anzaldúa's Borderlands/La Frontera: The New Mestiza.
