Borovoie and the last year in Moscow
pp. 179-186
Abstract
This is about Mandelstam's evacuation to Kazakh resort Borovoie where old and unhealthy academicians lived during World War II. Mandelstam's contacts with V.I. Vernadsky allow us to understand better the social and philosophical positions of these famous scientists. In 1944 Mandelstam returned to Moscow, delivered a few lectures at MSU, and died.
