Abstract
This paper explores the fundamentals of Lotus Consulting's Accelerated Value Method (AVM) a groupware systems methodology released in 1995. Each of the five modules; Process Innovation, Collaborative Development, Enterprise Deployment, Transformation Management and Engagement Management are described in a context highlighting the unique aspects of groupware systems development. The authors provide a critical account of the framework showing its weakness as well as its strength.
