Rhythm quantization

Georg Boenn

pp. 147-173

Abstract

This chapter will explain the main concepts behind rhythm quantization and transcription from a recorded performance. I will present algorithms for grouping, quantization, and transcription of recorded onset data into musical notation. The algorithms have been implemented in software as part of the chunking package that is available online, see Boenn (Chunking - algorithmic composition and rhythm analysis in C++, 2017, Boenn (2017)).
