Abstract
Graduate teachers in New South Wales are expected to have functional levels of computing literacy that would help them in the management and the facilitation of student learning. The Professional Standards of the NSW Institute of Teachers not only state that a graduate teacher should "demonstrate current knowledge and proficiency" (NSW Institute of Teachers, 2005, p. 3) in information and communication technology, but they are expected to develop their knowledge and skills as indicators of their professionalism.
