Abstract

The investigation carried out in this essay has taken the form of a systematic survey of the philosophical uses of the concept of proposition. My aims were two-fold. Firts, I have tried to show the different uses of the concept was introduced and I have attempted to find out to what extent and in what sense it can be dispensed with.
