Abstract
Complying with the flattering invitation to write in a rather personal vein on what I believe, I have taken the liberty of sketching an autobiographical background to the development of my philosophical point of view. I did this in the hope that it might be of some interest, if not of some slight use, to young "budding" philosophers.
