Abstract

In this final chapter we argue that there is still a vital role for sociology to play in helping people to shape their own lives and build their own diverse futures. Despite all the doubts about the modernist project of progress through reason, sociology can still claim to offer vital insights to people in society about the possibilities and limits that face them.
