the hospitalist's approach to the pregnant patient

Abstract
In many cases pregnant patients, especially in the early stages of pregnancy, can be successfully managed by a Hospitalist. This chapter will aim in exploring some of these conditions, including common presentations, diagnostic workup, and the appropriate management. The conditions discussed in this chapter include first trimester bleeding, nausea and vomiting in pregnancy, asthma, and heart failure.
