Simultaneous-successive processing and planning

J. P. Das

pp. 101-129

Abstract

This chapter reviews research which examined the relationship between two types of information coding processes (simultaneous vs. successive) and performance on measures of reading, recall, comprehension, inferencing, and arithmetic. In addition, wherever possible, relationships between planning and these latter measures are also discussed. In general, this presentation is based on the assumption that a process approach is vastly superior to one based upon styles and strategies.
