pp. 384-385

Abstract

Knowledge Management (KM) has received considerable attention in the past few years. Whereas there are numerous theoretical studies on this topic, practical success stories are still scarce. This is especially the case with professional services firms, usually considered fertile ground for the ideas behind KM. International law firms, most of all, pose exceptional challenges to the ambitions of KM since common cultural, technological and economic obstacles identified by KM theory cumulate in this market.
