Abstract
The preceding discussion has charted movement within some Buddhist communities towards engagement with human sciences and education, and concurrently some movement away from Buddhism being defined exclusively as a religion. There has been a movement to interpret the Buddha's teachings in language and with methods that appear to enhance wellbeing in existing educational or psychological practices in mainstreamed and plural settings.
