Robert E. Armit

pp. 85-95

Abstract

Allow me to express my pleasure to be with you this week in Athens to discuss the role of the Academies of Science in the Balkans. My work is in the area of technology transfer, and it is from this perspective that I wish to contribute to the discussion. In this session, I am focusing on matters of strategy and structure that assist in fostering technology transfer, and how the role of the Academies of Science might relate to these matters. Attention is directed to research in universities and to a lesser degree in government laboratories, and technology transfer in the context of university and government research. The ideas that were included in my paper in 1994 are a part of the current discussion.
